Highway to Everest -
- And India don't even have proper approach roads to some of its cities, forget about lakhs of the villages.
China is allegedly building Highway to Everest and IBN is carrying a report on it. Environmentalist will raise their concerns and ecologists will pour in with their views but China adopts a headstrong approach everywhere. If they are in, they are in and they don't care what is hitting them. Almost the same policies like of US. If they want to attack Iraq they will do it, if they want to bomb Afghanistan they will bomb it and if they want India to give up their missile program, Indians will do it. Similarly if China takes away some 30000 sq. kms of Indian land nobody points a finger, but if India fights for PoK the whole world comes to rescue of Pakistan.
Anyways, I don't think that this highway will earn them revenue but then its a strong statement of power that they can reach anywhere. After reaching Tibet through railways now Chinese can soon find themselves on a luxury coach headed to Everest. And for Indians, I remember that there was a report about how a village in Jharkhand can only be approached through Chattisgarh and the irony was that village had a paramveer chakra winner (the supreme award of bravery) which was awarded to late Albert Ekka. I wonder people still compare India and China.
