Movie Review - Jhoom Barabar Jhoom

A Musical Trash.

Only the trailer is worth watching or watch out the video song Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. Nothing else is noticeable in the movie.

Few Directors can dare to make a movie out of a song but Shaad Ali has dared to do it and predictably has done a blunder. I am glad that he took credit for only the direction and not for the screen play. Habib Faisal whose other disaster at screen play was Ta Ra Rum Pum has done the scripting. Well, I wonder that where is the script or for that matter screen play in the movie. The movie looks like a pure drama and people were actually beating their heads. During the interval people were actually discussing that the only reason holding them there in the theater after interval was the AC. Well, its Chennai so you can understand the need for the AC. I wonder what kind of people will watch this kind of Trash cinema.

The movie starts with a song, end with a kissing scene and in between packed with incredibly boring stuff. So boring that even the kissing scene don't attract attention of public. Abhishek and Preity meets a railway station and talk about their engagements and they actually talk their way out to fall in love with each other (such crap and the direction was again crappy). Then they meet in a disco with their partners and sang and danced for half an hour (same tune that is being played since the start of the movie). Finally Bobby falls in love with Lara (who is playing a prostitute) and Abhishek get his girl Preity. The soundtrack is impressive but in the end it all looks like repeating like hell. In three hours how many times you can listen to the same song? That is the tragedy of this movie. The director actually wants to check this out.

Movie has poor dialogues, a poor narration and Amitabh has been there for what you call an item number. Shaking his legs three times in the movie (start, intermission and the end). He wears a funny jacket (the deisgner claims that he made that out of cutting shawls and blanket). Why the hell you need to do that dear? You must have borrowed a beggar's dress from some railway station in England. They wear better coats instead. I watched fool and final sometime back which was another disaster but now I guess that comparing to this JBJ, FNF was a little better.

Well, if you have money to waste or even time to waste please care for your brains at-least and don't go for the movie. Well, this is my personal advice and you are free to act against it.
